It’s Tuesday and I’m just sharing my thoughts on the Samsung Gear VR and virtual reality in general. As a first time user, I was pretty much blown away. The resolution is quite not there yet but that’s a lot of data to be pushing around. Still, for the infancy of virtual reality, it’s immersive and pretty damn awesome as it is.
It’s a new week and new day. I’m just driving home from work. It’s not even 3:00 pm yet but there’s a bit of traffic already. It’s just crazy. I think a big part of it is the curve in the 805 freeway as you go through what we call the Golden Triangle in San Diego. People are just stupid and do not know how to negotiate that. You’d think it would be easy to just maintain your speed, keep your eyes on the road and carry on. But no… inevitably some idiot will slam on his brakes and there you go, instant traffic jam. The worse part is that he probably wasn’t even affected! Yeah, that’s the rant for the new week.
Taking a nice Sunday drive through the California desert. This is just outside of El Centro, CA.
Taking a Sunday drive out to the desert. The scenery is quite impressive actually. There are these rock formations that I’ve never seen before. I really wanted to stop in the middle of the freeway to take some pictures but alas that wasn’t possible. This was the nearest exit I could find.
Here’s how I’ve setup my Android phone. It’s a Samsung S7 Edge so by default it comes with the Samsung Touchwiz interface, which has come a long way. But I’ve customized it thoroughly with Nova Launcher Pro for my launcher and 500 Firepaper as my wallpaper app/manager. I love it so far!
It’s a beautiful Saturday so I dropped my wife off at badminton practice and am just enjoying the ride home. This one discusses my experiences vlogging thus far on a phone… the Samsung S7 Edge in particular.
I’m about to enjoy a nice bowl of bun bo hue with my wife. We’re at Mien Trung Restaurant, located at 7530 Mesa College Dr. in San Diego. This place has the best bun bo hue in San Diego… maybe the world! It’s that good. Bun bo hue is a specialty of Hue and the central region of Vietnam. You make it by simmering beef bones with lemongrass, shrimp paste, fish sauce, hot chili peppers and other spices until it all comes together into this delicious bowl of noodle soup. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go!
It was a long day at the office with back-to-back meetings but I’m finally back at the hotel. Time to grab a quick bite to eat!
It’s the start of my vlog… a proper one. Let’s see how it goes!
