Hi and welcome! I’m just a guy in my mid-40’s and fortunate enough to live in San Diego, CA. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated to the U.S. with my parents in 1980 as one of the boat people. We settled in San Diego in 1982.
I grew up in San Diego, went to college here, and work here full time. I was lucky that my job has afforded me the opportunity to travel and see the world. To date, I’ve flown over 2 million miles for work and for pleasure… that’s a lot! But I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to do so.
Now I find myself closer to retirement than when I started working. That is both scary and exhilarating. Having also gone through some personal challenges recently as well as seeing my parents age a lot over just the past few years, it has made me look at my own future and to start thinking about it a lot more seriously. That is the main reason to embark on this journey. I’ve learned a lot and I’m still learning. I do hope you come along for the ride and maybe you’ll pick up something useful as well.
